My evaluations and recommendations are supported by my clinical experience, training, and education. I have evaluated numerous individuals and have provided recommendations for returning to work, retaining CDLs, and retaining driver's licenses. I am a certified DOT SAP and NRC SAE. Registered DOT SAP on the FMCSA Clearinghouse I have a post-masters certificate in rehabilitation counseling and behavioral addictions, and I am a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS in NC) and Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICAADC).
What to expect from a DOT SAP or NRC SAE Evaluation
You may have many questions about what the SAP/SAE process is like. Here is an overview:

1. Request an appointment below OR Call or Text 888-928-1345/email contact@thesubstanceabuseprofessional.com to request an appointment.

2. If you are an FMCSA Driver, make sure you are registered in the Clearinghouse. Then search for Deauna Froneberger to add me as your SAP.

3. When your appointment is confirmed, you will receive 3 emails:
-Appointment confirmation and link to my HIPAA compliant virtual waiting room
-Invoice for payment
-Pre-assessment to be completed prior to the appointment

4. You will be responsible for attending two appointments and complying with my recommendations for either an education or treatment program.
-Appointment 1: Comprehensive Assessment (learn more here)
-I will request contact information from a collateral source.
-I will provide my clinical recommendation* of either an education program or treatment program.
*You are required to complete and comply with my recommendations even if there is no clinical diagnosis as required by the regulations.

-Appointment 2: Follow-Up Evaluation
-I will determine if you have complied with my recommendations.
-You are expected to fully discuss your experience and discuss what you have gained from the program.
-I will provide determine if you are eligible for return-to-duty testing to return to your safety-sensitive position.
-Your follow-up testing plan will be discussed.
