What is a Clinical Assessment?

After the screening and intake process, which includes the introductory paperwork and collection of signatures for the purposes of understanding the scope of services, obtaining informed consent, treatment options, and review of policy and procedures, the clinical assessment is typically the next step.

I use a holistic approach to address not only the biopsychosocial aspects of your life, a total understanding of your wellness, medical/disability status, workplace concerns, and health in order to make appropriate referrals and recommendations, if necessary.

The biopsychosocial aspect of the interview consists of questions that determine psychological, biological, and social factors that may contribute to a person's problems. This evidence-based approach assists with the development of a treatment plan that will be collaboratively discussed before counseling services begin.
